Pattaya Park. Listed as a "Relaxed resort featuring an amusement park & a water park, plus sea views & 3 revolving restaurants". It's a great place to go on a day when there are no beach chairs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the early morning, I went to the market.

 

 

And these ... unusual offerings

 

Tiny lobsters. White, blue and red. Price 60 baht (C$2.25) each. Presumably, you keep them until they get to eating size or ... pet lobster?

A few hours here in this sanctuary of serenity is not to be missed. Tai Chi, bird watching, walking, resting, paddling people watching and more. Named after the birthplace of the Lord Buddha in Nepal, Lumphini Park is one half a million metres big.

As our hotel is only a 5 minute is so walk to Shwedagon Pagoda, a late afternoon walk there was what I did today. Shopkeepers and sellers about, the honks of passing taxis and traffic, young and old walking, dogs sleeping and end of day life.

Before booking this hotel, I went by the reviews which were favourable and the price affordable. I had no idea what a gem of a hotel it is. Good location, within 5 minute walk from Yangon's main attraction, Shwedagon Pagoda:::Spectacular roof top view of Shwedagon restaurant:::Good clean rooms:::If breakfast included, in a word superb! Buffet AND you can order from the menu!:::Wonderful, smiling staff throughout!

Botahtaung Pagoda and Rohani Bo Bo Gyi, the guardian spirit of Botahtaung Pagoda are a must visit for Buddhists. Containing hair relics from Buddha himself and Rohani Bo Bo Gyi to bring you luck.

 

 

 

Ornate gold walls and ceilings inside. 

 

 

 

 

 

Rohani Bo Bo Gyi is believed to be the guardian spirit of Botahtaung Pagoda and donations help with good luck. 

 

 

 

And this carnival like way of making "lucky donation" 

 

You throw coins or bills on a rotating round table hoping to get inside one of the tins for good luck...
