🧳🇹🇭🧳 SI RACHA, THAILAND - March 14, 2019 - Turtle Sanctuary and more

Si Racha is known for the Hot Sauce invented here. What’s not generally known is that it is basically unavailable in Si Racha. I asked at several places ... ? Or “no have” was the response. Thais have no idea what I’m talking about. Business opportunity: make Si Racha sauce in Si Racha and sell it to the tourists! Please send my commissions directly to me!

The sea turtle sanctuary was closed some time ago, but has reopened minus the turtles. A new causeway has been built to allow visitors to access Ko Loi, the small island containing the sanctuary and Chinese Thai Buddhist temples.

The most famous turtle was Piggy Bank ... from the National Geographic ...

“People often throw coins into ponds for luck, but for a green sea turtle that was living in a park pond along the coast of eastern Thailand, good luck was not what she received. After consuming 915 coins, amounting to 11 pounds, the 25-year-old female turtle died.”

The pond that will eventually hold sea turtles again ... empty for now.
