@@@ March 19, 2018 Location: Taipei, Taiwan - Haishan and Tamsui

Food: This area is famous for Street Stalls appearing in the evening and mornings when regular places
are closed. For me, the hotel provides breakfast in the form of a coupon for breakfast at KFC!
One of the first things I tried was KFC’s version of  “Chicken Porridge”. In reality, NOT BAD!
FYI  It's true! In 1964, Colonel Sanders sold the KFC Corporation, the deal didn't include the
Canadian operations. Colonel Sanders, bought a modest home in Mississauga, Ontario
( just outside of Toronto ) & lived here from 1964 to his death in 1980.
Colonel Sanders moved to Southern Ontario to oversee his Canadian franchises
& collect franchise & appearance fees....

Haishan:  Near the MRT Station here .. a canal .. a bridge and now is Cherry Blossom time!

Note the flying drone!

And school kids ... enjoying the day

And of course ... some flowers

Located at the northern tip of Taiwan, Tamsui is located along the north coast about 40 minutes from Taipei by MRT and very accessible as a day trip, especially popular with locals during the weekend. Home to a variety of western colonial, Japanese, southern Fujianese, and native Taiwanese cultural and architectural attractions, Tamsui is a must visit location for all visitors to the Taipei area. Did not really do this area justice, but did get a feel for it.

Doing some land reclamation

Locals ...
Calling attention to the hat shop!

Local delicacies ... Fried Shrimp, Fried Squid, Fried Crab, Fried Cuttlefish and my personal FAV!

FRENCH FRIES!
