{{ January 8th - Full day Seoul city tour -part 1

In -4C temperatures, we set off for a full day tour of this 12 million population metropolis. It was a clear sunny day but despite a little wind, persevered.

First was a quick drive by of the "Blue House" which is the official residence of the South Korean president. Called Blue House because the roof is blue. Next the Jogyesa Buddhist Temple. This temple is the centre of Zen Buddhism in South Korea and the structure dates from 1936 although two ancient trees in the grounds are over 500 years old.

The two trees...one decidious and the other a white Asian Pine....

Our Our tour guide ... Pealla

And next the Gyeongbok Palace

A heater ...

And finally the changing of the guard ceremony...
