In and Around Pattaya...from morning till night

At sun up monks go out into the community barefoot with alms bowls and gather food from the lay community. The food is prepared for them. In return the monks offer a blessing. There is great reverence amongst Thais for monks and they freely give from their meagre resources.
Shrines to Buddha are everywhere. The sizes vary and the wealthier you are dictates the size. The house and ladder shown here is a spirit house where invisible helpful spirits can live.

Shrines to Buddha and offerings. Food, beverages and other things such as cigars are offered. Apparently Buddha is fond on the red-coloured cream soda as it is very common as an offering.

At night, Beach Road and walking street come alive. On this night, it is busier than normal as the 2014 Pattaya Music Festival is this weekend. Live music, vendors of all sorts, food and thousands of people.
