May 6 .. Arrived in Lima Peru - flew to Cusco - visited the Incan salt pans - night in Ollantaytambo

After an early morning we caught a quick flight to Cusco and immediately boarded a guided tour bus to several Incan sights including a visit to an Incan textile CoOperative, an ancient fortress site and salt pans fed by a stream going underground from the sea. The water is channeled so it produces pools of salt water. Still in use hundreds of years after the Incas first set it up. After a day of travelling we stopped at a beautiful hotel across from the train station, El Albergue in Ollantaytambo. Early tomorrow we catch the train to Machu Picchu.
