🧳🇹🇭🧳 BANGKOK, THAILAND - February 27, 2019 - Wat Pho aka Temple of the Reclining Buddha

It’s been some time since I’ve visited here. Crowds preclude any decent photos of the Buddha itself however ...

A 46 meter (150 feet 11 inch) reclining Buddha and Wat Pho is renowned for the largest collection of Buddha statues in the country. As well, the Wat is the birthplace of Thai Massage and is first on the list of highest class Royal Temples.

🧳🇹🇭🧳 BANGKOK, THAILAND - February 27, 2019 - Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Thai: วัดอรุณราชวราราม ราชวรมหาวิหาร)

Let’s just call it Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn. One would think after seeing many temples in Chiang Mai, I would be overwhelmed by temples. No way! I spend an entire day seeing the two biggest and some would say most important in Bangkok.

First, Wat Arun located on the Chao Phraya River is one of Thailand’s best known landmarks. Dating from the 17th century, the present temple is from the 19th and restored in 2017. I’ve wanted to see this place for many years.

🧳🇹🇭🧳 CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - February 25, 2019 - The moat

The ancient moat surrounds the old city of Nopburi Si-Nakhonping Chiangmai (นพบุรีศรีนครพิงค์เชียงใหม่). Remnants of the walls also exist. Restoring parts and maintaining this waterway gives Chiang Mai it’s charm.
