🧳🇨🇦🧳 MOOSE JAW, Saskatchewan, Canada - April 16, 2019 - Spring trip through the past

Back in Canada and a day trip to Moose Jaw with a friend. Exploring the past. My friend (born in Moose Jaw) and I sought out what remains of the former Wild Animal Park as well as a few other places in Moose Jaw. Stark spring landscape but still interesting.

The gate post at the entrance. Once a vibrant animal park that residents took pride in. First opened in 1929, it initially featured North American wildlife such as bison, bears and wolves and later exotics such as lions. Closed in 1995, the City of Moose Jaw is proposing a name change and repurpose. Tatawaw Park would be the new name and recreational use the new game.

🧳🇹🇭🧳 BANGKOK, THAILAND - April 7, 2019 - Icon Siam Revisited

On my last full day here, I had a few things to get and as my camera battery ran out last time, I went for a return visit to Icon Siam. Glad I did.

Like all places, not every nook and cranny is pretty

Back to this mega mall

The place is like an art gallery

And Pad Thai from the newest branch at Icon Siam of the restaurant selling the reputed best in Bangkok

And back on the river

Wow ... seems like it was on 85 days since I got here! Can’t believe it’s all over for this trip ... although I’m prejudiced, I give Thailand an 88% for the incredible people, the sights and tastes of Amazing Thailand 🇹🇭

On my second last day here I thought a quick relaxing trip to Rod Fai or Vachira Benchatat Park. Considering the heat, through the drops of perspiration I did manage a few photos.

🧳🇹🇭🧳 BANGKOK, THAILAND - April 5, 2019 - A walking experiment AND The Golden Buddha

Well today it was an experiment. I decided to walk to a temple not too far away and take pictures along the way. Setting off at 10am and returning at 2pm. I did not walk back. Total of over 12000 steps and over 7.5 km. Too much in +36C temperature and over 80% humidity. Won’t do that again for awhile. The result ...

Wat Traimit Wittayaram and The Golden Buddha. I’ve been here before but frankly, the history of the Golden Buddha is so interesting I thought another look was in order. I invite you to look at Wikipedia’s article on this.
Wikipedia Golden Buddha

The Golden Buddha. Actually in 9 pieces with a key, the body is 40% pure gold, from the forehead to chin 80% pure gold and the topknot being 99% pure gold. All the more amazing as it was covered in painted stucco for hundreds of years before being discovered to be made of gold in 1955.
