[[ January 18 Laos - Luang Prabang

This day was far more relaxed. A liesurely stroll along the Khan River which divides the main section of town and empties into the Mekong. Pictures here in no particular order...

The Lao version of the "Tuk-Tuk"

The Royal Palace Museum ... very interesting and full of artifacts of the monarchy including a gold throne and regalia of the last King Savang Vatthana, the last official monarch who was removed from his post in 1978. Unfortunately, no photography allowed.

A stop for lunch at one of many restaurants overlooking the river. A large Beer Lao ($C1.78) for a bottle that was 640 ml. A Lau sausage sandwich and beer for me and Papaya salad and water for my friend Noom. As well we shared a plate of dried seasoned pork and a basket of sticky rice. Total bill $C6.95
